Turkey is a land that has more biblical sites than any other country in the Middle East?

The three major apostles Peter, Paul, and John either ministered or lived in Turkey and Greece and on Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea.

Geographically Minor Asia and Anatolia is in nowadays Turkey! St. Paul was born here.

Almost two- thirds of the New Testament actually takes place in this part of the world that we will travel through.

TURKEY ITINERARY:


Day 1

October 1st, 2008

Our starts with gathering at the Dulles, Washington airport before Intercontinental flight to Turkey Ankara.

Day 2
October 2nd, 2008

After breakfast on board, we arrive in the capitol of Turkey, Ankara. We collect our bags and clear customs, and are greeted by our outstanding guide who will escort us to the waiting motorcoach. A brief overview of the city on our way to the hotel to relax before dinner.


Day 3
October 3rd, 2008

After breakfast, a visit to the wonderful Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara. In the afternoon, we depart for Cappadocia, checking into our hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 4
October 4th, 2008

After another full Turkish breakfast, discover Cappadocia; its unusual space land, the fairy chimneys, troglodyte dwellings and underground cities built by Christians in the 7th century. Visit the Rock Churches in Goreme Valley and Zelve Valley. Later visit the citadel of Uchisar and the pottery making village of Avanos. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel en route.



Day 5
October 5th, 2008

A chance to start your day with an Optional Hot Air Balloon Trip in Cappadocia (06:00 to 08:00 am). We'll then visit the underground city of Kaymakli and drive to Ihlara Valley to visit the Rock Churches in that area. Tonight a special dinner and Show at a Cave Restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Cappadocia.

Day 6
October 6th, 2008

Transfer to Kayseri Airport for our flight to Izmir. Have time to visit the city and enjoy lunch before driving to Kusadasi. Check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.



Day 7
October 7th, 2008

After breakfast, drive up to visit the Basilica of St. John. After time to roam through the fascinating ruins of this magnificent basilica, see the Temple of Diana (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world) on the way to Visit EPHESUS, cradle of early Christianity (rev:2-1-7). Walk through the streets that St. Paul walked and learn the history of this fantastic city. After lunch, we'll visit Meryama, the House of the Virgin Mary and celebrate Mass. Have time for personal meditation and prayer before we return to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight.


Day 8
October 8th, 2008

A FREE DAY TO RELAX - maybe around the pool, or wandering in the town by the sea.


Day 9
October 9th, 2008

After an early breakfast, we depart on a private ferryboat for the island of Patmos. Visit the cave where St. John wrote Revelations and have time visiting the monastery there. Walk in the narrow streets before we return by our ferryboat to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10
October 10th, 2008

Transfer to Izmir Airport for our flight to Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel in Istanbul. Afternoon is free. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


Day 11
October 11th 2008

A full day of sight-seeing in Istanbul. Visit the Blue Mosque with its beautiful blue tiles, the Roman Hippodrome, and Topkapi Museum, the Imperial Residential Palace of the Ottoman sultans between the 16th and 19th centuries and the oldest and largest of the remaining palaces in the world. Its displays include priceless world-class collections of jewelry, porcelain and costumes of the sultans. In the afternoon, take a boat trip through the Bosphorus Strait, viewing the mosques, palaces, old traditional wooden villas and the beauty of the Asian and European shorelines on each side. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 12
October 12th 2008

After breakfast, we visit St. Sophia Museum, built by Constantine the Great and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, one of the world's greatest architectural marvels and a designated World Heritage site. After lunch, visit the. Chora Church, with its beautiful mosaics, Afterward, we’ll have the opportunity to go shopping at the Grand Bazaar. This evening, we gather for a farewell dinner.


Day 13
October 13th 2008

Transfer to the Kemal Ataturk International airport for flight back home to the US.
